Scales-of-JusticeWhen I think about the person or family that I know will make an ideal client for my consulting services, that person or family  usually ends up matching the following criteria. The good news is that because the match up is so successful, referrals come more easily. We all know that a client who refers is the best client of all and that client is the best representative of your work and legal acumen.

So I encourage you to take a moment and jot down the characteristics of your ideal client. Take that list and keep it close because every day you have the chance to build your practice with the best clients which make for the most positive results and firm development.

Here are my TOP 10 as a Business Coach/Consultant:
10. They are ready to be coached and anxious to learn a new way of managing their life and challenges. The client is eager to hear the truth and take action to move forward.

9. My ideal client has a sense of humor and even in the most difficult of times, is able to find some humor and levity in this busy, fast world of ours.

8. My ideal client is both gracious and generous of spirit– they appreciate their progress,  the customized services I offer and  the effort of their family and support team to help them too.

7. I enjoy working with clients who pay in a timely manner and with pleasure.

6. I focus on consulting with clients that are both open and honest– they are ready to dig dip, solve problems, change attitudes including any unhealthy habits to make their lives work  better.

5. My ideal client is proactive not reactive. They are willing to take a step beyond their original goal and move from reasons to results (with my support).

4. My ideal client arrives on time for our appointments, moves through our curriculum and ends on time with their action plan for the week ahead.

3. The best client for my services is one who is willing to take risks, try doing things differently and will take massive action on their goals and plans.

2. My ideal client is someone who is able to ask for help, delegate, get support when needed and not feel ‘less than’ because they needed the help. Coaching is like having a private ‘super hero cape‘ that gives you the extra strength and power to move through challenging times, grief and loss. Brave people ask for what they need.

1. My ideal client understands and appreciates that my support, my coaching, my ‘work’ is a calling. Based on who I am, the gifts I have, the wisdom I’ve gained, my gift of coaching, advising, guiding and supporting the client is truly my service to my tribe.
