One of the most important principles in time management is to know that you are 100% responsible for how you manage your time each day, that means every day, 365/24/7. So one of the most important distractions that lead to procrastination and lack of focus is INTERRUPTIONS.
Today I ask you to define what constitutes an emergency in your firm? Who or what situation would allow someone to interrupt you– from a call, a meeting, or a research session? Does your spouse/children pass go? What about a question from a staff member? You must define an emergency very clearly for yourself and others in order to stay on task, focus in on an important project and work consistently toward completing it! Finish what you start begins by avoiding being interrupted!
Here is my call to action, I encourage you to think about the concept of a red light and green light that blinks (metaphorically) outside your office door and telephone… decide what really is an emergency and stick to it!

the second best time is today.”
